Preparing for your Install

Install Day

Installs are performed Monday – Friday, during normal business hours.
Be sure the driveway is accessible (snow cleared, sidewalk salted, etc.)
Be sure the install vehicle can park close to the structure receiving the product.
Ensure the access route within the building is free & clear.
Pets are not able to intervene with installers.
Empty all your base cabinets to prevent risk of dirt & damage to your goods.
Allow installers to work uninterrupted, this will ensure a job well done.
When installers are done, the lead installer will review a completion/ check off form with you. Be sure to thoroughly inspect the work, this is the best time to have adjustments made.
Installers will leave the jobsite in broom clean condition.

Misc things to know

Dirt and dust will be generated at install.
Strong odors will be generated from the epoxies and caulk.
Install is NOT guaranteed to be completed during the first trip. A second or third trip may be required.
Stone Specialists DOES NOT provide plumbing or electrical services.
New tops require 24 hours to set prior to hooking up plumbing.

If you are removing your existing tops

Remove the existing tops at least one day prior to the scheduled installation. This will allow time to resolve unforeseen issues.
Ensure the surface for the new tops is flat and level.
Ensure cabinets and walls are structurally sound.

If Stone Specialists is removing the existing tops

Ensure the water supply is turned off to the service area prior to the technician arriving.
Disconnect gas & electricity to the range if it needs to be moved for tear out.
Remember, it is always possible that removing tops can reveal unforeseen situations. These situations could delay and add expense to your project.

Call ahead to let the showroom know you plan to pick up your piece on a certain day.
Pick-Ups are Mon – Fri 9:00am – 3:30pm
Be sure to inspect your pieces prior to loading.
Transport stone in an upright position.
Bring blankets and small ratchet straps or have a plan to secure the product.
Stone Specialists offers A-frame rental. A-frames will fit in most pick-up trucks. Call for availability and current pricing prior to arrival.
